Self Improvement Journey: dealing with feelings


A lot of people do not know how to feel their emotions. They don’t know how to just sit with their feelings and feel them and understand them. Dealing with your feelings is hard because you have to revisit the pain that may have been created from the feelings. I have five tips on how to start dealing with your feelings.

  1. Become self aware of your emotions 
  2. Determine what emotions you’re feeling 
  3. Accept that the feelings are there
  4. Understand why you are feeling the emotions 
  5. Allow the feelings to release

My Self Improvement Journey

On my self improvement journey I have trouble dealing with my emotions. This is a continuous battle I fight within myself. It’s not easy dealing with emotions, it’s easy to just suppress them. But if you suppress them they will still be there building up inside of you. I experience this before I started writing and sharing my story. I started following the tips above and I’ve gotten better at acknowledging and dealing with my emotions. People are afraid of feeling past pain but you can’t grow if you are hiding from yourself.
